We're gonna need a bigger boat.

I am reading this book for the first time. Or should I say I was. 180 pages in I slowly realized what would end up happening. I closed the book opened up a synopsis and sure enough I was right.

It is an interesting book. I never got the chance to read it in High School. (No Idea why)

I dont have the heart to pour into the rest of it due to the lack of time. I recommend it to any one who has not read it. Be warned it is a little slow.

I listened to an audiobook of it on youtube, and the guy's voice made it so creepy and dreadful. It was like living there. I totally recommend it if you can find the video. He makes it hard to fall asleep though. XD

long live the king

that was my issue with the book as a whole. While it is an interesting read I found it to be an overall drag to chug through.

I normally binge read books. It didnt help that I could only read 10-30 pages every couple of days.

I was assigned this book a long time ago. I think I read spark notes on it for assignments. I've been wanting to go back and read the books that I was assigned for school but didn't actually read at the time.

I was definitely one of those "I like 1984, but Brave New World is better" kids in high school.

I'm never sure how to feel about the film adaptation, though.

I believe I have a copy of a brave new world as well. I have not read it.

I tried reading Fahrenheit 451. I got halfway through before I dropped it. Heh.

I think you said 11/22/63 is next and that book is cool but it does take a while to get there.

I liked both 1984 and Brave New World but I think I liked BNW more.

Yep! I thoroughly enjoyed it the first time I read it. I am reading through all my fiction books before jumping into the 25-30 non fiction books I have.

this, except 1984 was assigned in class and I was the only one who read BNW (because my senior paper was on dystopian literature)

orgy-porgy, Ford and fun
kiss the girls and make them One

orgy-porgy gives release

I read all of 1984. It's like a prototype of all the dystopian fiction we see nowadays, focused on big government powers. There were a few aspects I really think about, like the fact that those who live in the upper party still don't live as happy of a life as the old poor from before Big Brother, but nowadays its sentiments are all too real, though the roles between government and corporatists are flipped: corporations now have power to spy into people's lives, and they elect governmental leaders who will allow it to continue happening.

If you're going to read one, you probably should read 1984. But this is not the kind of genre I'm interested in.
