Perfectly spot on list.

Sir, just suppose... suppose if I had a cat, what would you do with Frankenstein?

Wouldn't this be better in boxcube?

Boxcube is pretty much "video game news & discussion" aka the only video game forum now.

shoutouts to this guy for linking the list in the description because I don't care enough to skip through the whole thing to see it when I don't know if the creator has worthwhile opinions c:

the couple games off that list that I'm familiar with are ones I'd recommend checking out, yeah

...though I do object to the overly-hyperbolic quote alongside Tales of Berseria

I actually was especially curious to get your opinion Pirate_Ninja because of a lot of our overlapping tastes.

Yeah can't find the boxcube board anywhere.

Boxcube is just a nickname for the video game forum.

Back in the day is was called Xbox vs Gamecube which was then shortened to boxcube

oh well if you're curious, the only ones I'm actually familiar with firsthand are:

The Nonary Games - (um duh) technically I never played this version but IIRC it's just the first two games of the series and as you know they're wonderful

HuniePop - legitimately a pretty fun puzzle game in the vein of bejeweled and all that shit, just with some strategic elements (usable "gifts" that can affect the playfield in different ways to help you) and a dating sim that provided some good chuckles. If you just want to see cartoon bobs, just go search the internet - the art is good but nothing to go crazy for. But I had fun playing the game and would've played through even if it had been censored (idk if the version they're selling is, I didn't play on steam).

Tales of Berseria - indeed a very good entry in a wonderful series, a fun battle system with good voice acting and stuff. But I find it rather inaccurate to say "It's been a long time since one of these games has been this good" - there was one inferior game before this (Zestiria), and unfortunately it's directly related to Berseria so you won't appreciate all the neat connections and stuff without playing it. Zestiria had a good cast but some lousy mechanics and a disappointing story; you could still appreciate Berseria on its own because it's good, but it's extra-special when you come in armed with Zestiria knowledge (Berseria is a prequel, so there are some really nice character/story ties). Before that game was Xillia and Xillia 2, and they were great. None are flawless, but I loved 'em.

beyond that, I've heard good things about several of the others - myself, I'd like to check out Trails of Cold Steel, but I have other RPGs I need to get through before I can justify that

@Pirate_Ninja: ToX was my favorite. I have a stuffed Teepo sitting on my bookcase. :P

Yes, you should. Let me know how you like it when you do get a chance to play it. I’m waiting till Trails of Cold Steel 3 get a western release before I replay it again.

As someone with a long abiding obsession with worldbuilding I can't recommend the series enough, HOWEVER I implore you to start with Trails in the Sky (AKA the Liberl Arc) before starting Trails of Cold Steel. you can usually find it on sale on Steam or GOG fairly often but be warned the series is a real commitment. In contrast to series' like Tales and Final Fantasy these games keep TIGHT continuity and plot points and characters tend to carry over between games very often.

yeah I knew it was a series and I wasn't sure which game came first, but I am pretty sure I won't be playing any of them in the near future so if I did look up which one to start with I'd probably forget by the time I actually did it, lol
