Album of the Year
Entertainment & Media

For me, it's one of these three:

Inter Arma - Sulfur English
King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard - Infest the Rat's Nest
Soen - Lotus

I'll be thinking closely about this over the next few days.

What are y'alls albums of the year?

But that's not what I suggested neither in my outline far above nor in the extremely limited statement I made that spawned this direct line of responses.

Give us a historical example of benevolent fascism.

Having a military doesn't make you fascist.

Yea, nah, don't even start.

I'm being reactionary.

If corporations cared more about being useful to society than about accruing capital, I'd be in favor of corporations.

If the military and police were used more for protection and less for class warfare and economic puppetry, I'd be in favor of the military and police.

The Dark Tower is about as great an American fantasy series as it gets.

I'm somewhat inclined to agree. It easily rests among The Wheel of Time, The Sword of Truth, A Song of Ice and Fire, etc. in it's scope and quality. One way in which it clearly excels beyond all of the

Seconding Stephen King. Unfortunately, my personal favorite work of his, Revival, is first-person.

Well, you can never go wrong with the Dark Tower series. It's third-person and it also happens to follow along with a halfway-traditional weird fiction style that somewhat resembles a lot of

Never tried k. I hear that it has some use as an antidepressant, but I haven't seen the relevant studies behind that idea. I am not particularly interested in dissociatives. If substances like k turn out to have clear therapeutic uses and do not feature significant drawbacks, that's great, though.

Anyone that answers less than "Strongly Agree" for "Inheritance is a legitimate form of wealth." is a communist and a tyrant and in opposition to the very foundation of our civilization

Um...yes. That's kind of a tautology. When people don't like how the current society was formed, they will spe

Realistically, what it looks like I'm advocating is neoprimitivism or neoheathenry where people create commune tribes. I don't know if I'd necessarily go that far.

@Xhin: thank you for your prompts. Particularly in reference to public services, there is a strange and fine line to tread between big private business and big government. If all of America needs to be educated, you're going to need an America-sized infrastructure to do it. Does this require either

Essentially, what I imagine is a modern American berserker aesthetic. I want everyone in America to be:

  • armed to a higher degree than the citizens of other nations (the only one of these that is close to being true, but probably the most controversial)
  • educated and trained
  • strong, phys

The company Christmas party was last night. In addition to grilling steak and pork chops for everyone, the owner of the bar also provides everyone with a $50 tab. So, I had a big, thick steak that was actually cooked correctly (red inside, but not raw) with a glass of Casa Dragones sipping tequila.

I get the distinct feeling that I arrive at "revolutionary socialism" through significantly different thought processes than others may. After I attend to some business this evening, I will likely elaborate here about my ideal situation for America and how that vision decided the answers to the quiz
