Hey, this wouldn't happen to be the same girl who saw gtx0 and thought we were all creeps, would it?

I also hate a lot of trailers and previews. Especially the ones on Netfkix (that automatically play when you're reading the description and thinking about it).

Previews for comedies like Ant Man are probably the worst, since they want to put the funniest jokes and gags in. But it makes you miss o

It is definitely hard and easier said than done. But what's the alternative? To embrace negative thoughts, quit your job and lay around the house all day? Things don't get better that way.

Thanks SOH. I appreciate the interest and the questions.

Life is full ups and downs. When we're in the low points it's best just to stay positive and productive.

I could probably do that, yeah, but it wouldn't be what I want to do -- policy analysis, political research, international relations, china-related, etc. And I'd still be without my girlfriend.

At least what I'm doing now is helping me build up relevant experience that will be good for both jobs

I would really disapprove of what my friend was doing. I wouldn't end our friendship over it though.

I don't think you should get involved with this. Let them make their mistakes. When it's all over and relationships are ruined (likely scenario), you should be there to make sure your friend takes

I've been looking at internships in both China and America for a long time. Unpaid is the norm. But the experience can be great, for sure.

I may have to continue with unpaid internships in the Summer and the Fall (if I get them, they're very competitive as well), so savings won't be enough if I

Haha. Small as in a stipend at the end of the internship. Minimum wage would be great in comparison.

I'm interning with the policy team at a local environmental advocacy non-profit. So I track legislation and research policies and issues about Michigan's environmental/energy challenges.

It's actually pretty cool, though the work is a bit lax and it pays virtually nothing.

Well I've been outside the continental US for the last 10 years, but I've been in china for like 4-5 years.

Basically one of the new requirements for getting a work visa includes having 2 years relevant work experience or a masters degree. The job was to be a policy analyst for a chamber of comme

Long story, Xhin.

Basically I've been back since September trying to get a visa for a job offer I received. Despite all my best efforts, though, it was rejected a third and final time by the Beijing authorities. I actually woke up to that news today.

Oh yeah, you're in Illinois right? I'm in Michigan and the closings over the last few weeks have been crazy.

Anyway, to recap, use flashcards, and sort them into thematic categories. Use the chunking method of memorization (if you have 50 things to memorize, memorize 5 things at a time; this alwa

If you haven't yet had a quiz or test on the material, then it's hard to know the best way to study everything.

Like, the fur trade and columbia exchange. They're pretty important, but also pretty easy to understand. If you had to define it by multiple choice, I wouldn't worry, but they could al

Okay. Well it sounds like this period is all about the lead up to the Revolutionary period. So think about the general themes of colonial development and how they were different in the colonies you study. Like, the Northeast/North and the South. It's easy to look at their development in terms of pol

If you have a pull-up bar or something similar available, you can try a few sets of dead hangs. Those are really good for shoulder impingement.

Who are you?

Nope, I've never done any of that. Just text-based role-playing back when this site (and it's precursor) were more active and I had a lot more free time.

Never been to Detroit, either. I'm from GR originally, but up until recently I've been in the Pacific and then China for years.
